Steps to Better Vision
Step 1-Initial Consultation

In order to determine if you are a candidate, we invite you to visit us for a complimentary laser vision correction consultation. You will meet with a LASIK counselor and either Dr. Moretsky or Dr. Cassidy. At this consultation our staff will conduct some standard pre-op screening tests including corneal topography, corneal thickness, pupil size and computerized wave scan to determine which procedure will best suit your needs.

The next step will be an informed consent session and dilated eye exam with complete measurements. These are specialized preoperative tests, which will be interpreted and discussed with you by your surgeon. We will provide all necessary information needed for you to make an informed decision concerning your laser vision correction procedure. Plan on this appointment taking approximately two to three hours. We do require a deposit at this time, which will be deducted from the total cost of the procedure on the day of your surgery.

Following your measurement examination, a surgical date will be scheduled. We are proud to announce that we offer our patients the most advanced VISX technology available today-the VISX Star S4 IR laser with three-dimensional eye tracking and recently introduced Iris Registration (IR). In addition to the S4 IR laser, we utilize the WaveScan mapping system, which allows us to take measurements 25 times more precise than the standard measurements utilized in prescribing glasses and contact lenses. Having the most advanced VISX laser system allows us to offer the latest breakthrough in LASIK: CustomVue Individualized Laser Vision Correction. Your laser vision correction procedure will be performed in our state licensed and accredited outpatient surgery center. Dr. Moretsky and Dr. Cassidy perform LASIK surgery weekly on Thursday and Friday and for your convenience. We also reserve one Saturday per month for your surgical procedure.
Please remember if you are currently wearing contact lenses, you will need to discontinue wearing them prior to your dilated exam and date of surgery. The time frame you will need to be out of contact lenses will be determined by your surgeon and LASIK counselor based on which type of lenses you currently wear. The removal of your contacts is imperative to your outcome, as contact lenses alter the shape of your results.
If you are currently wearing glasses full time, we can also schedule the consultation and dilated exam to be performed on the same day to forego an additional appointment. If you choose to schedule your appointments in this manner be sure to let our staff know when you make your appointment, to reserve sufficient time.
