Meet Dr. Sanford L. Moretsky

Dear Patients,

After forty-five years in practice, I will be starting a new chapter in my life. I am announcing my retirement on July 4^th , 2023.

I am happy to announce that Craig Cassidy D.O, Jon Stock M.D., Laura Encarnacion O.D. and Zachary Green O.D., will still be available with Moretsky Cassidy Vision Correction and can provide for your ongoing care.

Dr. Cassidy and Dr. Stock are experienced surgeons specializing in laser cataract surgery and premium refractive interocular lens implantation as well as pterygium surgery. In addition, Dr. Cassidy is an expert LASIK and ICL surgeon.

Dr. Encarnacion and Dr. Green provide comprehensive eye care. Both obtained their optometry degree at Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Optometry.

Dr. Moretsky holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KUCMB). He is a certified specialist in Ophthalmology: a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology (M.D. Board), and a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology (D.O. Board). Dr. Moretsky is founder and managing partner of Valley Eye Specialists PLC/ dba Moretsky Cassidy Vision Correction.

Nationally Dr. Moretsky is past President of the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. He served two terms on the Board of Trustees of KCUMB as Chairman of the Research and Medical Affairs Committee. He is a Fellow of, and served consecutive terms on the Advisory Council of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). He has been awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for Meritorious Achievement. Dr. Moretsky has authored publications, appearing as journal articles since 1984.

Locally, Dr. Moretsky is a past President of the Phoenix Ophthalmologic Society and also served in a leadership position on the Board of Trustees of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association. Dr. Moretsky received the President’s Award by the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association.  Dr. Moretsky is an Active Member of the Arizona Ophthalmologic Society.

Dr. Moretsky was honored by being profiled in the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2021 editions of the Az Business LEADERS magazine, in the Healthcare VISION section. In an excerpt in the From the Editor section, by Michael Gossie, Editor in Chief:  “The leaders you will see profiled in the pages of this magazine were selected from a pool of 5000 of the most innovative entrepreneurs and the best and brightest Arizona business leaders in healthcare, real estate, construction, education, banking, financials services, and law.
